The Premise You’re exhausted. You need sleep. But the second your head hits the pillow… it starts. A faint, unrelenting noise drills into your skull, a creak, a buzz, a drip and suddenly, sleep is impossible. You have to find the source and silence it. But the moment you crawl back into bed… another noise begins. Welcome to What’s That Noise?, a darkly relatable horror puzzle game about the maddening cycle of sleeplessness. Silence one noise, and another emerges. How many can you endure before collapsing from exhaustion… or madness?

Artstyle The world is rendered in dark greyscale with a painterly shader, mimicking the fragmented, dreamlike way we perceive darkness. Shadows bleed like watercolor, and objects morph between “harmless” and “uncanny” as your sanity wavers.

Inspiration We’ve all been there: 3 AM, heart racing, convinced the house is alive. What’s That Noise? weaponizes that universal dread. By stripping away color and relying on sound, we recreate the primal fear of being alone in the dark, where every noise feels like a threat, and sleep is a fragile, fleeting prize.
